Originally from the Delta town of Marks, Barbie is a graduate of Mississippi College and has a Master’s degree in Broadcast Meteorology from Mississippi State University. She and her family live in Madison, Mississippi, and are active members of Colonial Heights Baptist Church in Ridgeland.
